Lan shook his head sightly. 'He was better. But he thought I was finished, with only one arm. He never understood. You surrender after you're dead.'

Part 2 of Dragon Subquest Overlook: Overlook [ s ] A euphoria suddenly overcomes you... you feel as if you should take off this ledge... Ent entrance, north to Azhir, examine Azhir His gaze radiates with a terrible heat, like the burning hearth within the heart of a mountain. His eyes are amber gold, its pupils slits like that of a serpent. Drabbed and tattered robes hide his elusive frame, a cowl hangs loose over his head. The darkness hides most of what his robes do not, suddenly you catch a swishing motion like that of a serpent's tail from the corner of your eye! The scant light makes his shadows seem vast, and for brief heartbeat you could have sworn seeing the pitched leathery wings of a great beast blanket over you... terrible scars wrack his body, some running the length over his entire torso, spread across his shoulders and arms are the intricate scripts of Arhat'i tattoos. Azhir Dahaka was once a powerful warrior ascetic, hailing from an ancient monastic Order beyond the eastern sands. Having attained the highest levels of enlightenment, he began a pilgrimage that eventually brought him across the Gulf of Tears and into the Labyrinth. For decades he dwelled within that desolate land, seeking the meaning behind its creation. But not even the warrior monk's profound cultivation could save him against the influences of the Undreaming, and when he emerged, he emerged changed. Paying a terrible price, the very knowledge he sought had tainted his spirit beyond that of any mortal reckoning... He is glowing with a white aura. He is surrounded by a barrier of shimmering air. Azhir Dahaka is in perfect health. Azhir Dahaka says, 'You dare look upon me? I taste the air and its savor is sweet with your terror.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Do not deny it child, fear is prudent, but shame serves no purpose...' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Now speak, why have you SOUGHT me?' Say Sought Azhir Dahaka's mouth twists open into a broad grinning smile. Azhir Dahaka says, 'Does your blood call to you as it courses through your body? Burning as if it did not belong?' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Like the ichor of the gods flowing through mortal veins?' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Are your dreams haunted by visions, of light and of fire, and of destruction wrought?' Azhir Dahaka says, 'I see the beast inside of you, those scars you wear betray whatever skin you may walk in.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'The Curse of the Scale demands BLOOD...' Say blood Azhir Dahaka says, 'So, you wish to master that which afflicts you...' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Many have come before you and many more will come after...' Azhir Dahaka says, 'To attain what you seek, you must perform a SACRAMENT.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'But before that, you may wish to hear of our ORIGINS.' Origins Text Below: Azhir Dahaka says, 'In times gone and in times yet to come, many have borne the name Dragon.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'At times that name wore the flesh of men and ofttimes the image of beast...' Azhir Dahaka says, 'But the greatest amongst them was not one but both, for he was the first of them.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Admist the ashes of creation, at the dawning of the Wheel, before words were spoken or wrought.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'At the time when men gained dominion over beast, and when the morning fires stoked their hearts.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Men lived and men died, as they do now and as they will do until all of Creation sleeps.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'They fought for the dirt beneath their feets, for feuds of blood, for desires of the flesh.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'They fought as they do now, and as they will do until the light dies and the wheel of time goes silent.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Then came the Dark from the place of nightmare, like a shadow cast upon Creation...' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Kith turned upon kith, and blood upon blood, as the first of the Shadowborn arose.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'The beasts of Dark hunted the children of man, and the realm drank deep the rivers of crimson...' Azhir Dahaka says, 'And so began the First Age of Chaos, and the world learned despair.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'The fires of that Age forged the first heroes, and then came Draul, he who would be named Dragon.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Destined to be reborn with each turning of the Wheel, the Dawnbringer, Smiting Hand of the Creator.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'He bestrode the times like a colossus, purging the realm of Shadow wielding the fires of Heaven.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Soon the tide was stemmed, and the remnants of humanity began to rally under his glory.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'The tribes came one after another and from each he derived an aspect to lend to that of his standard.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'From the tribe of serpent he took scale and body, as the sons of the eagle gave him talons and flight.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'The Clan of the Elk lent antlers to his aspect, and the Brotherhood of the Claw adorned Lion's mane.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Thus upon his con was wrought a great beast, as the first nation of men marched against the Shadow.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'So too did Draul's con, there and forever more was the image of the Dragon imbedded in the hearts of men.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Rekindling in them the times of darkness and fear, and of the despair from which they learned to hope.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Thus from the illusions of mortal dreams were we borne by the Undreaming, the Curse of Scales we bear.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'As we roam the realm neither man nor beast nor some image to behold, but Dragons!' Azhir Dahaka's eyes glint with a terrible light as his tale comes to a finish... Say Sacrament Azhir Dahaka says, 'ICE and FIRE, EARTH and WIND, these are the four paths that lay before you.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'Choose of them one which you wish to traverse.' Say the element that corresponds with the sub you want. I did Ice which is to follow: Azhir Dahaka says, 'The path of Ice, path of the Frost Dragon.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'So be it, give me the stone from the Undreaming and we shall begin the ritual.' Azhir Dahaka says, 'If you wish to change your mind, speak now before the SACRAMENT or hold your peace.' Give stone azhir Azhir Dahaka accepts a shimmering black shard of stone.
